The Actisorb Plus 25 medical device is a dressing containing activated charcoal and silver that allows cleaning of infected wounds or those at risk of infection.
The product is made of a layer of activated carbon with silver, which is placed in a non-stick nylon shirt.
Action
Actisorb Plus 25 shows a wide spectrum of activity against microorganisms, including strains of multi-drug resistant bacteria, such as: MRSA, VRE. Activated carbon absorbs unpleasant odors, bacteria and toxins, while the addition of silver fights microorganisms inside the carbon layer. In addition, the dressing does not stick to wounds, so it is painless when removed.
Indications
The product is indicated for use on various types of chronic wounds (e.g. leg ulcers, pressure ulcers or diabetic foot), traumatic and surgical wounds, wounds healing by granulation, cancer wounds infected with fungi, areas contaminated with bacteria, infected or emitting unpleasant odors.
The method of using the medical device
1. Moisten the dressing with saline or Ringer’s solution.
2. Apply the dressing directly to the wound or over any other non-stick dressing.
3. Secure everything with a secondary dressing.
